X Ensemble

2019 WVMEA


WVMEA X Ensemble Applications are now being accepted for the 2019 WVMEA Annual In-Service Conference to be held MARCH 7-9, 2019 at the Charleston Civic Center and Municipal Auditorium in Charleston, WV. To apply, music director must be a current, active member of NAfME at the time of submission and at the time of the conference;  the total number of performers in ensemble must be 4 or more; ensembles may not appear on the WVMEA Conference program in successive programs; ensembles may submit recordings for either traditional honor ensemble or X honor ensemble, but not both; and middle and high school ensembles are encouraged to submit a recording.

A completed X Ensemble application must include all of the following components:
  1. A completed application. (click link below)
  2. Three mp3 recordings. (uploaded on application form)
  3. A copy of set list from a recent performance and a list of potential repertoire to be performed if selected. Repertoire for the X Ensemble performance at the conference must be approved by the executive board. (uploaded on application form)
  4. A 50 word professional biography and an electronic head shot of the director to be included in the conference program if selected. (submitted on application form)
  5. A $25 application, payable by credit card. The application fee is used to supplement the WVMEA scholarship fund. A receipt will be sent via email upon submission of this form.

Submission Deadline: Friday, Feb. 1, 2019 at 9 PM. This window of time ensures that selected directors/ensembles will have time to make logistical arrangements associated with traveling to the conference.  Questions may be submitted via email to xensemble@wvmea.org
